SYNOPSIS:
The Everglades Outpost is the oldest wildlife rescue and refuge in the Everglades. UNTAMED EVERGLADES brings the exotic Florida Everglades to live every week as a diverse staff of wildlife staff and volunteers strive to save an incredible array of abandoned and vulnerable animals while struggling to maintain a functioning rescue and refuge on the edge of the great swamp. At the center of the storm is Bob, the resourceful owner of Everglades Outpost. His staff is a dedicated and free spirited collection of animal welfare advocates that include Martha and husband Jeff, as well as Bob’s protege, Quinton.
Most of the animals at the Everglades Outpost have been rescued from illegal, traumatic and abusive situations. Drug Dealers and other wealthy individuals are notorious for smuggling illegal wildlife into the country for their own pleasure and then releasing them when they inevitably grow too big. As a result the staff at the Outpost rescues everything from stray Emus to Bengal Tigers and everything in between. Challenges that stand in the way of accomplishing these goals include the dangers inherent to The Everglades (including bears, quicksand, Alligators and venomous lizards) as well as the everyday challenges of running a rescue.
Every week viewers will root for our resourceful band of animal advocates as they work against difficult odds to rescue, rehabilitate and release (or re-home) injured and abandoned animals rescued from the great Everglades.
